Equine Shiatsu with Sue Eaton

About Sue

I have owned horses for about 30 years, competing at local, Riding Club and County level.  Along the way I have passed my Pony Club B test, Riding Club Grade 2 and Phase 2 and am currently studying for accreditation as a British Riding Clubs Horse Welfare Adviser.

I have always been interested in touch and energy therapy and first heard of equine shiatsu in about 1994 , from a series of articles by the late Pamela Hannay who was mainly responsible for introducing shiatsu to the equine world.

For  two years I  trained  with Jill Blake who herself trained with Pamela Hannay and is one of the founder members of the Equine Shiatsu Association.

The course included, practical and theoretical study of Shiatsu techniques, equine anatomy, physiology, care and behaviour.  Students had to pass a practical assessment and examination and submit over 50 equine case studies and treatment records.

I am  a registered practitioner member of the Equine Shiatsu Association and am fully insured.  The association requires a very high standard of ethics and practice. Under the Veterinary Act your veterinary surgeon must be informed that your horse is having a shiatsu treatment.
